Ensuring the correct oil level in your Bigboi WASHRPRO is crucial for its proper operation and longevity. Operating the pump with low oil or no oil can cause permanent damage and VOIDS THE WARRANTY. Follow these steps to check and set the oil level:
Checking and Setting the Oil Level
-
Remove Shipping Plug
- Using a 17mm open-end wrench or socket wrench, remove the shipping plug from the pressure pump.
- Discard the shipping plug.
-
Insert Pump Breather Plug
- Remove the pump breather plug from the parts bag and insert it into the pressure pump.
- Tighten the pump breather plug securely by hand. Do not use an open-end wrench or socket wrench to tighten.
-
Check Oil Level
- Inspect the sight glass to ensure the pump oil is at half of the sight glass level.
- If the oil level is below the indicator on the oil gauge, add the recommended oil.
Recommended Oil and Maintenance
- Oil Type: Use API SF SAE 10W/30 or 15W/40.
- Initial Oil Change: Change the oil after the first 30 hours of operation.
- Subsequent Oil Changes: Change the oil every 100 hours of operation.
We recommend using high-quality NON-DETERGENT oils classified for service SF, SG, SH, SJ, or higher. DO NOT use special additives. The proper oil viscosity depends on outdoor temperatures:
- Below 40°F (4°C): Using SAE 30 oil will result in hard starting.
- Above 80°F (27°C): Using 10W30 oil may cause increased oil consumption. Check the oil level more frequently.
By following these steps, you ensure that your WASHRPRO is properly lubricated and ready for use. Proper oil maintenance is vital for the efficient operation and durability of your pressure washer.
